Hints

Hint #1

You don't have a keycard, so will need to open this lock manually. You were given an 8-digit code that will need to be unencrypted to open the lock.

Hint #2

The decryption uses two parallel algorithms, so if you have a team, you might want to split up the decryption tasks among you.

Hint #3

The Locky Locks LC500 User Manual mentions tabular and rotational transforms. Once you've entered a valid badge number, you should see buttons to navigate to the rotations and tabular transform screens. Each screen mechanism will help you identify the necessary outputs to the input string.

Hint #4

The best way to reverse engineer the algorithms is to try them out with the example ID from the manual. See which processes generate the results they have displayed in the table.

Hint #5 (Tabular)

If you use the alphanumerics from the input code to highlight rows and columns, the intersection will be an alphanumeric that is part of the output.

Hint #6 (Tabular)

Since each pair of input values will yield a single output value, you will need to find a way to use each input value twice.

Hint #7 (Tabular)

Using he first two values in the input string as row and column point to your 1st output value. If you the reverse them, they then point to your 2nd output value.

Hint #8 (Rotational)

Each pair of input values contains a letter and a number. You have lettered buttons on the Rotational Transform screen that need to be clicked a specific number of times to position the correct output values at the top and bottom of the wheel.

Hint #9 (Rotational)

Once all the rings have been rotated the correct number of times, your output will be composed of all 8 of the alphanumerics that are vertical on the rings. They just need to be put in the correct order.

Hint #10 (Rotational)

The correct order is found by using Oppositional Alternation, as it says in the user guide. That means essentiall that you start with the value at the top of the outermost wheel, followed by the value at the bottom of that wheel, then top and bottom of the next wheel, and so on.

Hint #11

If you have checked both transform outputs and they are valid, they will have been transferred back to the manual entry screen. The next step is to select the highest value (in alphabetical order) for each position and enter it in the "Extracted code" box at the bottom of the screen.

Answer

Numbers are before letters in alphabetical order, so your extracted code will be determined by the following comparisons: F>D, 9>2, E>2, B>9, E>6, 5>3, B>5, 9>6. Entering FCEBE5B9 will give you the Entry Code to open the truck.
